The composition <separates>DEF the surface into <convex>DEF regions encompassing each woman. The separation is further accentuated by panels in the background whose upper contour <stretches>DEF <convexity> to the right:

The woman to the right emphasizes <verticality>DEF through the head resting on the hand, the panel behind her head, and the facemask which leaves an open skin area that reflects the hand in <shape>DEF and colour. Contrast the facemask to the other woman’s facemask closed-off around the eyes:

Then the <shape> is <stretched> through the bend made by the hand with respect to the forearm:
